About Keith
I know something about performing.
I know something about performing.
There was a time in my life when, from the outside, I was doing fine.
I worked. I handled my responsibilities. I showed up.
I could perform.
And I did.
But I had almost no emotional connection to the performance.
My life hadn't fallen apart. I wasn't sitting around thinking something was terribly wrong with me.
I just knew something important was missing.
And I didn't know what it was.
Then I had a conversation that mattered.
Her name was Angela.
Angela was a hypnotist, and yes, she used hypnosis as part of our work together.
But when I look back on that experience, the technique isn't what seems important to me.
What she did mattered.
Something changed.
I experienced my life differently afterward.
Angela didn't tell me who I should become. She didn't hand me a new life.
But that experience gave me something I've carried with me ever since:
The way things are now isn't necessarily the way they have to stay.
Change is possible.
I know because I experienced it.
That changed the way I work.
I've spent years studying hypnosis and change.
But somewhere along the way, I became less interested in techniques and much more interested in conversations.
And questions.
Especially questions.
What's going on here?
What are we assuming?
What haven't we noticed?
What would happen if something we've been absolutely certain about isn't quite as certain as we thought?
I don't want to tell you how to live your life.
I'm not interested in deciding what's wrong with you.
And I'm certainly not going to pretend that I know more about being you than you do.
What I can offer is my attention.
My curiosity.
And a performance-free conversation in which neither of us has to pretend we already know the answer.
Lets talk
That's what I mean by a Conversation That Matters.
Sometimes one conversation changes something.
Someone once had that conversation with me.
Now I create the opportunity for someone else to have one.
