The Conversation
So, what is a Conversation That Matters?
It's time set aside for you.
Not 50 minutes with one eye on the clock.
Not a program with a predetermined sequence of steps.
And not a conversation in which I already know where we're supposed to end up.
It's time for us to become curious about something in your life that you don't want to keep experiencing the way you're experiencing it now.
We start wherever you are.
You don't need to prepare.
You don't need to write down your goals.
You don't need to figure out what's wrong before we meet.
You may arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about.
Or you may arrive with little more than:
Something has changed. I don't want to keep feeling this way. And I don't really know why.
Either is enough.
We'll start there.
I'll listen.
I'll ask questions.
Some of them may be questions you've never been asked before.
Some may cause us to stop and look at something differently.
And sometimes the most useful thing we can do is notice something that has been sitting in plain sight.
There isn't a script.
I don't have a sequence of ten questions designed to lead you to a predetermined conclusion.
I'm not trying to fit your experience into my model.
We're paying attention to what happens in the conversation itself.
That may mean talking.
It may mean sitting quietly for a moment.
It may mean sitting quietly for a moment.
The conversation is the work.
We have time.
I don't want either of us watching the clock just when something important begins to happen.
So I reserve a generous block of time for a Conversation That Matters.
That doesn't mean we have to use every minute.
It means the clock doesn't get to decide when we're finished.
We stop when it feels like we've reached a natural stopping place.
01 What are we trying to accomplish?
haven't decided that for you.
You may want to feel lighter. Clearer. More confident. More engaged.
Or you may simply know that you don't want to keep experiencing your life the way you're experiencing it now.
That's enough.
I don't promise what will happen during our conversation.
But I believe change is possible.
Our job isn't to manufacture a breakthrough.
Our job is to create the arena, become curious about what's happening inside it, and notice what changes.
02 What happens afterward?
Maybe one conversation is enough.
Maybe later you'll decide there's something else worth exploring.
We don't have to decide that beforehand.
I'm not interested in keeping you in a program because the program says it's time for Session Four.
If another conversation would be useful, we'll talk about it.
If it wouldn't, we won't.
No homework unless there's something you genuinely want to do.
No maintenance program you're required to follow.
You go live your life.
And notice what you notice.
Lets talk
Before any of this happens...
We meet for 30 minutes. That's the door.
You can meet me. I can meet you. You can ask whatever you want to ask.
We'll talk about what's happening and whether a Conversation That Matters seems worth having.
Then you decide.
